Suggest pre-booking one of our suggested add-on tours –

Add on – Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill Tour–USD 130 Per person (minimum 15 travelers)

Relive the 3,000 years of Roman history on this tour. Explore the ancient Capital – from the Colosseum to the Roman Forum – from the venerable monuments built by the ancient Romans to the more recent Renaissance masterpieces.

You will begin at the center of Rome itself, at Palatine Hill. According to the Roman foundation myth, this is where the twins Romulus and Remus were suckled by a she-wolf nearly 3,000 years ago.

Proceeding onward, you will visit the Colosseum, where your guide will regale you with tales of the incredibly (and sometimes beastly!) exploits that once went on there. You’ll hear about the battles of ancient gladiators against one another as well as wild beasts harvested from around the world, and other public spectacles the likes of which have never since been seen.

After the Colosseum, you will visit the Roman Forum, once the center of Roman government and public life for both the Empire and the Republic. The tour concludes at the Arch of Titus – perhaps the archetypal model for all triumphal arches constructed in many areas of the world, including the famous Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

There is no better way to relive the glory and majesty of Ancient Rome than on this incredible tour, to visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and all of Ancient Rome’s landmarks.

  5. Day 5 - 24 Sep, 2023 Rome - Pompeii - Sorrento Coast [B/-/D]

After breakfast check out and meet your guide. Today we will travel towards the South of Italy. The first stop of the day will be Pompeii where you will have the time to enter the site and admire the antique Roman settlements. Soak in 2,000 years of history during your discovery of the excavated ruins of Pompeii.

The city of Pompeii is a partially buried Roman town-city near modern Naples. Along with Herculaneum, Pompeii was partially destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m of ash and pumice during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79, and it was lost for nearly 1700 years before its accidental rediscovery in 1749. Since then, its excavation has provided an extraordinarily detailed insight into the life of a city at the height of the Roman Empire. Visit this UNESCO World Heritage Site and unravel that fateful day when Mt Vesuvius erupted.

A local guide provides an in-depth view of this remarkably preserved archaeological site.

After Pompeii we will continue towards Sorrento driving along the coast with spectacular views of the Vesuvio. After check in you will be taken for a walk around the city center and to a limoncello shop to taste and learn how this typical liqueur of the South is produced. Join in the evening your guide to a local restaurant for a dinner based on some delicious pasta or gnocchi, traditional of the area.
