  3. Day 3 - 12 Oct, 2023 Johannesburg - Sightseeing [B/-/-]

    Morning after breakfast, you will be collected and travel to Soweto which is a sprawling cluster of townships on the south-western flank of Johannesburg.  You will visit the Hector Pieterson Memorial in Orlando West and stop at Mandela House Museum, Nelson Mandela’s former humble house in Orlando West. The museum contains an assortment of memorabilia, paintings and photographs of the Mandela family and honorary doctorates bestowed on Nelson Mandela.

  4. Day 4 - 13 Oct, 2023 Johannesburg - Mpumplanaga - Hazyview [B/-/D]

    Our journey begins early morning in Johannesburg to beat the traffic, exploring the scenic highlights of South Africa’s iconic Panorama Route in Mpumalanga. After an early breakfast, you’ll be collected by your guide for a full-day tour of the mountainous Panorama Route’s various waterfalls and viewpoints.

    Make sure to take your camera with you because you’ll want to capture the sweeping vista from God’s Window, the remarkable rock formations called Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the beauty of Blyde River Canyon and Three Rondawels.  We travel east across the “Highveld” and descend the Drakensberg escarpment to the “Lowveld”.  The “Lowveld” provides ideal conditions for wildlife to thrive. The Kruger Park is well known for its concentration of animals and is ideal for safaris. The drive is long, and we do stop for lunch en route. (Lunch is at one’s own expense). Late afternoon we reach our accommodation for check-in. Enjoy some time to unwind before your dinner.

  5. Day 5 - 14 Oct, 2023 Kruger National Park [B/-/D]

    You have a bright and early start to the day to experience the wonders of exploring the Kruger National Park in your Open Safari Vehicle. This game drive experience in the world-renowned Kruger National Park is one you will never forget. Explore the pristine wilderness in an open safari vehicle with a highly experienced ranger, who will ensure optimal game viewing with his in-depth knowledge of the African bush. As you search for the Big Five, keep an eye out for the many other smaller creatures that live in this reserve, including over 500 bird and over 100 reptile species. Kruger National Park is an internationally renowned game reserve of nearly 2 million hectares and supports the largest variety of wildlife species on the African continent. Keep a lookout for the wonderful flora and bird life that abounds.

    Return to your hotel around lunch time and your afternoon is at leisure.

    This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Johannesburg Airport for your flight to Cape Town.  Upon arrival in Cape Town, you will be met by our representative and assisted with your transfer to your accommodation.

     

    This evening we will enjoy dinner in a local South African Home, where you will learn and discover about life in South Africa, and in particular the people of Cape Town.

  7. Day 7 - 16 Oct, 2023 Cape Town -Stellenbosch - Cape Town [B/L/-]

    After breakfast we head to Stellenbosch winelands for a half day winery tour. You are in wine estate in the heart of wine country in the Western Cape. This is a tranquil place where vineyards and mountains soothe modern day life stress. Enjoy some free time.

    A visit to the Cape is not complete without experiencing the attractions of the Cape Winelands. Your half-day immersion in the country’s leading wine region of Stellenbosch, centered on a historic town with an elegant mix of Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian buildings, yet exuding a modern vibrancy. This is South Africa’s golden triangle for winemaking and the region is known for its reds, whites, blends, and bubblies, along with stunning locations, fabulous food, and hospitable people. This tour is a marvelous complement to a trip to Cape Town and should not be missed.

    Conclude your wine tasting with a lunch, offering you an experience of local delicacies.

    You have the evening at leisure to explore the city or visit the Waterfront. The Waterfront is almost a destination on its own and offers loads of entertainment, different restaurants, and shopping.

    Morning after breakfast, meet your tour guide and proceed to Robben Island. Boats depart from the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront and head to one of the most famous prisons in the world. This is where South Africa’s father of the nation spent 18 years, the legend of a man, Nelson Mandela. Guests will disembark at Murray’s Harbor on the east coast of the island and take a short walk to buses that will transport them to all of the historically significant sites. The tour guides inside the prisoner today, are former political prisoners and their knowledge of this island is unparalleled and adds a unique cultural layer to this experience. This tour culminates with a viewing of Nelson Mandela’s cell

    Return back to V & Waterfront and continue to picturesque “Bo-Kaap”. A historic area that became home to many Muslims and freed slaves after the abolition of slavery. Discover the unique culture, lifestyle and personality of the Cape Muslim community and their contribution to South Africa’s development during a walk through the area and its cobbled streets. You will continue to Zonnebloem, originally District Six, and visit the living museum. You will then leave the city area and head to the Cape Flats, where a stop will be made at Langa Township’s Gugu S’Thebe Arts & Cultural Centre. Housed in a brightly colored building, the center is dedicated to the empowerment of the people of Langa and improving their socio-economic situation. Explore the local arts and crafts on display in the various studios, metal and pottery workshops as well as the retail facility.

    Robben Island ferry is weather dependent.  In-case of Robben Island tour being cancelled due to weather conditions, we will replace it with Cultural Town Ship Tour.

    Robben Island requires guests to produce a form of identification when they purchase a ticket and board a ferry when visiting the island.     After breakfast, your day is completely free at leisure There is something for everyone in Cape Town.  Walk the V&A Waterfront. For the adventurous, opt to go skydiving, abseiling, or, if you are really brave, cage diving for a close encounter with a great white shark. Wander through the city center, which has some of the oldest buildings and gardens in South Africa. Check out the Cultural Historical Museum, Planetarium, and many other museums and theatres. We suggest to pre-book below optional tours.

    This awe-inspiring tour begins your travel along the Atlantic Seaboard to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbor. It’s then on to Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breath-taking coastal drives, to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point. It’s then off to historic Simon’s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach. Boulders Penguin Colony is home to a growing colony of the endangered African Penguin. A lunch stop is made (lunch to own account) and the day ends with a visit to the celebrated Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. The Garden includes five of South Africa’s six different biomes and is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape Flora it displays as well as for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.

    Guests will take a trip to the top of the world, high above the clouds on the famous Table Mountain. Table Mountain is an icon in Cape Town and is most likely the most photographed landmark in the country. Table Mountain has been named as on the seven wonders of nature and attracts millions over visitors from all across the globe, in fact, since the opening of the aerial cableway in 1929, more than 22 million people have taken the trip to the top. At the upper cable station, guests will find a restaurant and a curio shop as well as some footpaths for exploration. (Guest to make their own way to the Table Mountain)

A well paced and unhurried itinerary is our goal, after all, you are on vacation! Touring days begin and end at reasonable hours and include frequent stops. You will walk for about 2.5 hours daily across mostly flat terrain, including paved roads and cobblestone streets, with few hills or stairs. You should feel comfortable managing your own baggage at times.

We use hotels that are closely monitoring COVID-19 updates and adhering to the guidelines that are set by the National Health Organization and WHO. Along with the Government directions  are preparing to safely reopen and accept guests with thorough precautionary standards set in place, to ensure a safe, healthy and welcoming environment!

Cleanliness and hygiene standards at hotels are of high importance and they have implemented additional measures that meet the latest guidance on hygiene and cleaning, to ensure the safety of our guests and team daily. The hotels are using cleaning & environmentally friendly products and protocols that are effective against viruses.  They are conducting enhanced training and corona virus awareness, updating our team in response to the new standards COVID -19 has set for our well-being, onward

A post signage on entrance door that no one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19 will be permitted in the hotel Public spaces. They will perform cleaning and disinfection in all public spaces with increased frequency; Hand sanitizers have been placed at all areas  and team facilities including lobby, dining outlets and reception desk, bathrooms and offices. The hotels will provide  surgical masks and gloves to guests and staff according to the new guidelines . Designated signage at all public areas, notifying guests of keeping social distance, wearing masks, use hand sanitizers.

Elevators, must be used by one passenger at a time, or guests sharing the same room. Still, we encourage you to use the stairs.

Rooms. Key prevention protocols are followed to clean the rooms with particular attention paid to high touch items. A rigorous cleaning after guest depart and before the next arrival.  More detailed information is provided in each room

Back of House.  Screening of all teams, in each shift before entering  the Hotel, for symptoms to  Immediately exclude anyone. In the spaces where  Hotels team is working we are increasing the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas like  entrances, locker rooms, laundry rooms and  offices

The hotels will ensure to follow Food Safety Policies as well with daily cleaning and disinfection of the kitchen and other food preparation areas, surfaces, proper cooking and storage of food and hygiene practices.

Our suppliers use transport companies, those have implemented to enhance hygiene protocols, to comply with physical distancing requirements by relevant government authorities and to give you peace of mind when you are travelling during these new times.

Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the transport companies  have taken additional measures to elevate our hygiene and sanitary practices in accordance with guidance from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and as required, applicable government regulations.

The Driver training provides them with the latest hygiene protocols. They will clean and disinfect all surfaces including handrails, door handles, tables, seats, air-conditioning filters and overhead lockers on a daily basis.

All our guests are asked to follow hygiene practices recommended by the World Health Organisation including the thorough and regular washing of hands and sanitizing when required.

Hand sanitizer will be available on board for your use throughout the day.

Please bring your own washable face mask and gloves with you, and additional hand sanitizer to make you feel comfortable, as these will be required to be worn in public in some countries.

Should an unexpected situation arise, additional face masks, rubber gloves, antiviral sprays and wipes will be available for guest distribution on all trips.

The health and safety of our passengers and employees is our top priority. As questions and concerns arise as a result of COVID-19, our group of companies has taken a number of precautionary measures to provide the highest level of protection for our customers and team.

Our COVID-19 measures include:

  • The vehicles interiors are completely cleaned and sanitized daily.
  • Drivers now perform a thorough cleaning of the vehicle’s interior surfaces with disinfectant wipes between each trip.
  • Drivers have been issued protective disposable rubber gloves and masks.
  • With the exception of dispatcher, office staff are now working remotely, from home.
  • All employees have been instructed to self monitor, self isolate and seek immediate medical attention if they show any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Under no circumstance will we allow sick employees to report for work.

At this time we don’t know what the exact future effects of Covid-19 will be on tourism in South Africa. We hope that all attractions and hotels included in this offer will reopen and will continue to operate in 2023 but we may have to look for alternatives where this is not the case and we do appreciate your flexibility. We also do not know if social distancing restrictions will continue and so reserve the right to limit numbers on coaches and review prices if appropriate if these restrictions are applied by the governments.

Covid-19 Reschedule: Your tour qualifies from a reschedule to a future date based on government advisories. A mutually agreed date with the tour leader will be announced and all the deposits will be retained for future travel for the same trip.

  • In order to enter South Africa, U.S. and Canadian citizens need a valid passport with an expiration date extending at least six months beyond the date of reentry.
  • We recommend having at least one blank passport page for entry stamps.
  • There is no visa required for U.S. or Canadian citizens.
  • If you are not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you must contact your destination country’s consulate for your specific entry requirements.
  • Please note that our travelers are limited to one checked bag and one carry-on bag per person due to storage limitations on motor coaches and other transfers, which may include train connections or flights.
  • Contact your airline(s) for baggage size and weight restrictions for your flights, which may include on-tour flights in addition to your round-trip flights to and from tour. Please note that your included on-tour flights may have more restrictive baggage limits.
  • Some airlines may impose additional charges if you choose to check any baggage or exceed baggage size and weight restrictions. Be advised that you are responsible for any baggage fees incurred on all flights.

  • For jungle safari, wear neutral and earthy color clothing.

  • If you have medication that you take daily, be sure you have enough for each day of the tour as well as any possible delays encountered.
